The Clovis Invitational results are in, with Tyler Hanson, Sr., winning the boys Division 3 race with a PR of 15:36 on the 5k (3.1m) course. This same course is also the State course, on Nov. 24th this season.

Both Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls placed 4th as full teams in Division 3. Our top 3 boys were Seniors Tyler Hanson (#1, 15:36)and Mark Tamminga (#13, 16:30), with Junior, Charlie Zamanian (#24, 16:47). Our top 3 girls were Sophomore Sarah Rockwood (#20, 20:12), Senior, Ashley Kawaguchi (#22, 20:14) and Junior, Lindsay Buckel (#28, 20:28). Even with a few runners out for injuries, we still did well against tough competition.

Our Varsity runners performed well at yesterday’s Stanford Invitational amongst top competition and hot weather. The 5k races were run on Stanford’s golf course. Miramonte raced Division 3, based on school enrollment.

The boys placed 4th out of 30 teams, with our own Tyler Hanson winning the race of 230 boys with a time of 15:44.

The girls placed 6th out of 29 teams, with Sarah Rockwood leading the Miramonte pack at 20.13 (27th out of 199 girls).

Great job today at our first DFAL Center Meet. For most of you, your next race will not be until Oct. 13th, the Mariner Invitational. Varsity will be heading to Stanford on 9/29 and then our Varsity plus top 2 Frosh/Soph and top 3 JV will be competing at the Clovis Invitational on Oct. 6th. Names will be announced on Friday.
